After the PhD
The PhD in Food System is a highly qualified figure to address the problems that the food system is encountering with a view to increasing the sustainability of food production, transformation and consumption.
The functions in a work context are the following:
- Direction, administration and management functions of companies operating in the sector of production, transformation, conservation, distribution and marketing of food;
- Responsible for the quality and safety control and assurance of food raw materials, finished products, additives, technological aids, semi-finished products, packaging and anything else relating to the production and processing of food products;
- Responsible for the definition of standards and specifications for the aforementioned products.
The skills associated with the functions are as follows:
- Skills to direct, administer and manage businesses in the food production, transformation, conservation, distribution and marketing sector;
- Skills to control and ensure the quality and safety of food raw materials, finished products, additives, technological aids, semi-finished products, packaging and anything else relating to the production and processing of food products;
- Competence for the definition of standards and specifications for the aforementioned products.
